More than 2 million pounds of precooked Korean barbecue pork jerky products shipped to Costco and Sam’s Club stores nationwide are being recalled for possible contamination with metal debris, federal health officials warned.
South Dakota-based LSI Inc. has recalled jerky products labeled as Golden Island Flame-Roasted Pork Jerky Korean BBQ Recipe after multiple consumers reported finding wire-like metal in the products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said in a warning notice posted Saturday.
The company discovered that the metal in the product came from the conveyor belts used during production.
