NYC CEO and business leader brace for a showdown with socialist mayor Frontrunner
Panelists Byron York and Mark Halperin discuss the growing concerns of Zohran Mamdani’s success in New York on “Kudlow.”
New York City’s leading CEO, employing thousands of people in some of the world’s biggest companies, including JPMorgan and Pfizer, did not expect to sweat in a meeting with mayoral socialist Democratic candidate Zohran Mammami in mid-July.
“Most of the business leaders have known Cuomo for many years as governor and attorney general and frankly expected to win the Democratic primary. So they were surprised and very interested in the primary winner.”
As a result, the organisation driving economic output over $236 billion will hold two “informal and conversational” style meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday, with 150 participants expected in both to discuss policy issues with Mamdani.
According to Wylde, business leaders have the advantage over key candidates, but unlike former mayor Bill de Blasio, the last socialist mayor, he is encouraged to be actively involved with executives. She points out that Mayor Eric Adams is “great” in the face-off against Mamdani.

That said, NYC business leaders are concerned about three major issues in Mamdani, his inexperienced, at just 33 years old. The other two are heavy. “In terms of policy, this is a fear that socialists will take office. It’s not clear to them. So will this be a war with the business community or can we have a solid working relationship?” she explains, adding his position on Israel is a major concern. “The sensitivity of the Jewish community to clarify his position in Israel, what will happen in order to bridge the Jewish community and reassure the Jewish community if he goes well,” she added.
If Mamdani wins, wealthy New Yorkers may run away from NYC for the FLA
Enquiries to Fox Business Mandani were not immediately returned.
The new Digital Times Square Billboard is scheduled to debut on Monday, according to the New York Post. “I’m ready to escape from New York,” he reads in a photo of Mamdani and splits it up with “Move to Ohio,” featuring Vivek Ramaswamy, running for Ohio governor.
At a meeting in Ireland last week, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon did not sugarcoat Mamdami’s views.

“He’s more of a Marxist than a socialist, and now you’re watching these Democrats say, ‘Well, he’s pointing out some real issues, affordable housing, groceries prices,'” Dimon said at an event in Ireland on Thursday.

Mamdani, who Dimon claimed, was pushing “the mash of the same ideological ideology that doesn’t mean anything in the real world.”
The bank is currently finalizing its $3 billion 60-storey Manhattan cutting-edge headquarters, which is set to accommodate up to 14,000 employees. It also boasts Irish pubs and other perks, Fox Business reported. Dimon was a solid supporter of employees who returned to their employees’ offices five days a week.
It is expected that more business leaders will step up. According to the Wall Street Journal, “Mayors 25 New Yorkers of a Better Future” has been created and is working to raise $20 million to fund the anti-Mandani campaign.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman told Mamdani in the long X-Post that his winning office would be a “death confession” for NYC’s economy.
Excerpt from Bill Ackman’s X post
“I am opposed to being mayor because your policy is so damaging to NYC and all of its residents, especially the most vulnerable New Yorkers.
“The mayor commits to socialism will become the death of NYC’s economy. Construction will halt. Businesses will relocate or move expansions to other cities. Our biggest taxpayers will leave, remove tax bases and say they don’t want billionaires or other wealthy New York residents. Global Intifada will talk volumes about you.
“On the other hand, you fail to condemn the calls to kill Jews around the world. What would you think if a future mayor didn’t condemn the calls to kill your people? What if he didn’t condemn the calls to kill the black community, Catholics, or Hindus?
Billionaires threaten to close NYC grocery stores if socialists win
Billionaire John Catsimatidis, owner of NYC supermarkets Gristedes and D’Agostino, and real estate investment owners John Catsimatidis, threatened to close the store if Mamdani enters.

New York City’s economy accounts for 9% of the United States. This pointed to the city’s $2 trillion in metropolitan products, according to the NYCEDC, a national economic report.
