Campbell Hutton: Boxer’s son Ricky Hutton retires at the age of 24 and becomes a solar panel installer | Boxing News
According to his father, 2-weight world champion Ricky Hutton, Campbell Hutton retired from boxing at the age of 24 and became a solar panel installer.
Hutton last fought in October in a second straight defeat against James Flint, finishing his professional career with a 14-2 record.
He won his first 12 games and was part of the same management team as Anthony Joshua before Peter left for the past two years.
“No, Campbell will never fight again,” Ricky Hutton, ironically returning to boxing in December, told boxing when asked about her son’s future.
“You know, he didn’t have much amateur experience. He tried it out with an amateur, and he went to the pro and tried it.
“He fought for the regional title and was beaten. He thought he lost it fairly. But he soon fought the same young man.
“I thought he won the second one. They were both very close fights. But he lost a bit of Mojo and then some things didn’t work out.”
Ricky, who turned 47 in October, became her son’s trainer in March this year before discussing his retirement.
He says the death of one of Campbell’s best friends has affected him in recent months.
“He went through a bit for a while, and he was in the gym and his heart wasn’t there,” he said.
“I said, ‘Listen to my son, you should be very proud of yourself, you’ve tried it, but if you lose your mojo, you need to go outside.” You cannot box, you can play other sports.
