Colorado retires from Chedur Sanders’ second place and Travis Hunter’s 12th place


Chedur Sanders and Travis Hunter He left a big footprint for two seasons only on the field Colorado.

So, as part of the afternoon festivities, their numbers will be resigning on Saturday with a spring game. Sanders’ second place and Hunter’s 12th place will be fifth and sixth figures retired from the football program.

Dynamic Tandem will join the company of quarterback/halfback Byron White (No. 24), guard/linebacker Joe Romig (No. 67), quarterback/tailback Bobby Anderson (11), and late tailback Rashaan Salaam (19).

Hunter, who played both wide receivers and cornerbacks, is away from the Heisman Trophy campaign. Sanders has broken many of the program’s transition records leading the Colorado attack. Both are expected to be highly selected in the April 24th NFL Draft.

They each arrived in Colorado from Jackson and helped Coach Dion Sanders restore her gloss to the oppressed buffalo program. After 4-8 in their first season under Sanders, the season that drew celebrities to the sidelines and to many national exposures – Colorado finished 9-4 last season and went to the Alamo Bowl.

Hunter concluded his Colorado career with 153 catches for 153 yards and 20 TDs (he also had a rushing score). In defense, the Hunter ended with seven interceptions, notching 16 passes splits and forcing a fumble. Opposing crimes are moving away from his side of the field.

He rarely left the field. Hunter played with a total of 2,625 snaps, leading the FBS in 2023 and ’24.

It was a rich awards season for Hunter. In addition to Heissman, he received the Walter Camp Award, his second Paul Horn Award (the most versatile player), and the Bednarik Award. He also took home the Lot Impact Trophy as National Defensive Player of the Year and won the Biletnikov Award as a top receiver.

Shedeur Sanders is the Johnny Unitas Award, handed over to the top college football quarterback. He was named the 2024 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.

Sanders shattered over 100 school marks under the Buffalo center, including touchdowns, passerby ratings and completion rates. Sanders pitched 7,364 yards and 64 TDs with a completion rate of 71.8% in his Colorado career.
