Crystal Palace’s Europa League prospects improved after John Text sold stocks to Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets | Football News

Crystal Palace’s hope to play in Europe next season appears to have been boosted after shareholder Johntext sold his club’s stake to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson.
The text’s stock at the Palace threatened to be a hindrance to participation in the Europa League next season, as Americans are shareholders of the French side, Lyon, who are scheduled to participate in the same competition.
Under the UEFA Multiclub ownership rules, the palace appeared to be possible to miss.
However, a 43% interest in the London Club textbook was sold to Johnson in a transaction of over £190 million and sold the palace to Values Palace for over £400 million.
This sale is subject to Premier League approval, but now there is a free palace to play in the Europa League.
The Eagles competed thanks to their final FA Cup victory at Manchester City.
Text, which owns key stakes in current Brazilian and South American champion Botafogo through the Eagle Football Holdings Group, first invested in the palace in 2021.
Johnson has been in discussion with texts and palace president Steve Parish for several weeks.
He is the owner of the New York Jets billionaire and former US ambassador, and has previously tried to buy Premier League clubs with interest in West Ham and Chelsea.
Text and Eagle Football, also owned by Belgian RWD Morenbiek, are about to buy another English club.
