Monaco Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton crashes after Charles Leclerc sets the pace from Max Verstappen ahead of qualifying | F1 News

Lewis Hamilton crashed from final practice after Charles Leclerc was the fastest ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix qualifiers.

Hamilton closed the session early with a thumping wall on turn 3 with two minutes remaining with an approach to Casino Square.

Slowly Mercedes and Haas may have caught Hamilton as his Ferrari was affected by the dirty air.

His car dealt a lot of damage to the right side as the seven-time world champion apologized to his team for putting it on the backfoot earlier Qualifying at Sky Sports F1 on Saturday at 3pm.

“I don’t know what he was trying to do if he didn’t crash because he would hit the car in front of me.” Sky Sports F1Jenson Button.

“This is the problem. You arrive there at such a high speed, arrive at the limit and have the car before.

“It was definitely Lewis’ mistake, but at that point it wasn’t an easy situation for him. The loss of downforce definitely hurt him.”
