Intermediate Bowling Green, Yuta, Florida and OhioUrban Meyer has seen incredible talent on the football field.
One player stands out as the “best” in his 17 years of coaching at the college level.
Meyer boasts a star-studded roster of players who earned it NFLinclude Tim Tebou, Cam Newton and Terry McClaulin. He coached Joey Bosa, Taylor Decker, Ezekiel Elliott and Michael Thomasall of them participated in the Ohio State National Championship team in 2014.
But player Meyer thinks that the best Mayer is former Florida wide receiver Percy Harbin.
Meyer led the Gators from 2005 to 2010, while Harvin played for the team from 2006-08, winning two BCS National Championships.
In a recent episode of the “The Triple Option” podcast, Meyer spoke about Harvin about Fox’s broadcasters Mark Ingram and Rob Stone.
“I said this, but no one disagrees with whom he saw him, or who played against him or who played with him.” Meyer said. “I think he’s definitely the biggest player to wear a helmet. He’s the most violent runner I’ve ever had, Mark, he never got hit. He said he’d have been looking behind his head. He was very clever.”

Another college standout that played alongside Meyer and Harbin on the Gators’ 2008 National Championship team was Joe Hayden. Meyer recalls a conversation he had with a former Gator cornerback who was a unanimous national and three-year starter during his time in Florida.
“Joe Hayden came to Florida to play receivers and H-back,” recalls Meyer. “After five minutes of practice, he looked at Percy and he came to me and said, ‘I’m not going to beat it. Can I play corners?” ”
Throughout his career in Gainesville, Harbin was a threat both in the air and on the ground. He has 133 receptions for 1,929 yards and 13 touchdowns, and hastened for 1,852 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Harbin runs to wide receivers (1,852) and holds Florida’s record in most career yards rushing in the most rushing yards of a season with receivers (858 yards in 2007).
After his time in Florida, Harbin was Minnesota Viking It was his 22nd pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He then won the offensive Rookie of the Year Award. He last played in the NFL in 2016 with the Buffalo Bills.
