Trump World is tired of Laura Rumer. They hope that the president is too

Rumer emerged as one of the most important voices in Trump’s ears, meeting him at his Mar-a-Lago club and talking to him with some frequency after spending years on the internet fringe of far-right plots. Rumer became prominent for openly accepting anti-Muslim rhetoric and other extreme positions as she shares a video on X about how 9/11 is “internal work,” and even things like GOP MP Marjorie Taylor Green led Georgia’s Marjorie Taylor Green. Encourage Trump not to hire her in mid-2023. Her influence has grown ever since.

“Stop the second when my phone is exploding,” Rumer told Wired on May 1, minutes after news about the waltz broke. Eventually, Pings subsided, and she chased the reason for claiming the firing as “scalp.” “It’s not about who your friend is, whether it’s morally right or morally wrong,” she said. “It has to be done. Hopefully the administration will be serious about managing royalty tests.” She is obsessed with these so-called royalty checks: “They don’t do loyalty checks,” she tells Wired. “You need to be loyal to the commander… you need to be loyal to President Trump.”

Harping Hand

With her near-unusual enthusiasm for Trump’s loyalty as her guide, there was no target too small for the Terminators of Trump World. Other Trump staff and sources have spoken to Wired and have not found a way to stop the suspicious flow of information from Harp to President or Rumer to Harp.

“Natalie Harp is a trusted and valuable member of President Trump’s team,” White House communications director Stephen Chen tells Wired. “And she certainly is a big reason why his operation was as successful as ever. Her work ethic and dedication to helping President Trump achieve his historic victory is second to none.” (Harp did not respond to requests for comment placed in the White House.)

Cut and dry

Still, despite Rumer’s claim that she was mostly hired by Trump on four separate occasions, the role of the administration remains elusive to her. Trump World sources are more skeptical than ever about the rise in rooms on pay. “You have to ask yourself, if Trump wanted her, do you think his staff is capable of preventing it?” says the source of management. “like what?”

“One of Laura’s challenges and one of the reasons why she can’t really do management work is because she thinks it’s all cut and dry,” they continued.
